Tucked away in the historic Redland area of southwest Miami-Dade County, Lindbergh’s Landing is a private, gated enclave spanning roughly 230 acres—a rare place where aviation and equestrian life share the same address. Estate homes sit on spacious lots of five acres or more, many with private hangars, stables, or both, all surrounding the grass runway that is the heart of our community.

Our History
From a grass strip in the Redland to one of Miami’s most distinctive flying communities.
Long before the first hangar doors opened here, this corner of the Redland was farmland and groves—a quiet stretch of southwest Miami-Dade County where the horizon ran flat and wide, and the sky seemed made for flying.
Our story begins in 1977, when a simple grass strip known as Dodd’s Airstrip was carved out of the landscape. In those early years, the strip was maintained by a small group of local aviators who organized as the Groveland Airstrip Association, sharing a runway and a love of flight in one of the last truly rural corners of Miami.
In time, the community took on a new name: Lindbergh’s Landing—a tribute to Charles Lindbergh, whose pioneering spirit left a lasting mark on Miami aviation. Lindbergh flew the first international airmail routes out of Miami for Pan American Airways in the late 1920s, helping make this city the gateway of the air age. Our name honors that legacy of adventure and possibility.
Beginning in the 1990s, the neighborhood as we know it today took shape. Estate homes rose on spacious multi-acre lots surrounding the airstrip, many with private hangars, and in January 1999 the airport was formally recognized under its FAA identifier, FA35. At its heart lies our shared treasure: a 4,000-foot turf runway—Runway 9/27—believed to be the longest private airstrip of any flying community in Miami.
Today, Lindbergh’s Landing remains what it has always been: a place where neighbors are also fellow pilots, where the sound of an engine on final approach is the sound of a friend coming home, and where a shared runway binds us together as a community. Nearly fifty years after the first wheels touched down on this grass, we continue to connect, share, and grow—proud stewards of a rare and remarkable way of life.
